So, what is Muck n' Mac?
Muck n' Mac Fest is a unique gravel riding festival weekend - all staged at Traquair House in the heart of the Tweed Valley. We're excited to get the ball rolling for what's going to be an extremely exciting year for cycling in the Valley with the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships taking place in August.

The festival features two fantastic days of Gravel riding across some of the most epic gravel trails and roads the country has to offer.

Both days riding start and finish at the festival Village at Traquair House and each feature multiple Enduro-style timed stages. Once you've completed the ride, you'll be treated to an array of live music from Friday through to Sunday.

We've carefully selected a line up of artists to keep you entertained all weekend. We appreciate that riding isn't for everyone. With this in mind, we have a range of activies geared toward familes. Alongside the live music expect to see various activities such as Yoga classes, introductory bike sessions for kids and adults, camping and much more!

-
What bike should I useWell, that would depend on which option you go for. For 'The Mucker' we would suggest a gravel bike but any off road bike will do. If you are going for 'The Mackie' a road bike will be the beast for the job.
-
Is this a race? No, it isn't a race. However, we do have some timed sections which you can choose to ride as fast or slow as you please. Between these stages is completely untimed giving you the chance to kick back and enjoy what's going on around you.
-
How will I know when the stages start and finish? We will have both Marshals and signage in place giving you ample warning.
-
Do I need to be super fit to ride?We wouldn't describe the routes as flat but we have specifically put in a long and short course option. If you start on the long course you can always drop down to the short on the route.
-
I'm a bit daunted by the distance, can I use an E-bike?"Yes, you are welcome to use an E-bike - you just won't be competitive in the overall prizes.
-
Will there be charging points for E-batteries?No, we don't have charging points for batteries in the village.
-
I really want to ride but my partner and kids don't. How can this work? When purchasing a full weekend riding ticket there will be an option of additional extra tickets bellow. You can add in a partner (non-riding) ticket ticket for 50% off, plus children u14 are free entrance to the festival village.
-
Will there be much for them to do in the village?Yes, we have an array of live music on through the day and into the night, pump track with kids coach giving introductory riding lessons, watersports, walking routes and many other family friendly activities.
-
Is it extra for camping? No, this is included in the ticket but please when booking state how many will be staying in each tent.
-
Can I sleep in my campervan?Yes, please do check 'camping' when you come to make your booking.
-
Will it be loud with music on late?Live music stops at 11:00 but we do have a quiet camp ground on offer a little further away from the music if you want to get away to bed early.
-
Camping really isn't my cup of tea? Are there any rooms available? At the festival village, we just have camping and campervan options. However, the village is based just a couple of miles outside the town of Innerleithen where there is a great mix of accomodation on offer.
-
Is there vegetarian and vegan food options?Yes, there will be a mix of catering options for your dietary requirements.

MUCK N'MAC SPOTIFY PLAYLIST
As we mentioned earlier the festival is as much about the music as it is the bike riding...

To give you a wee insight into the sort of music to expect. We've spent time carefully selecting some tunes into a playlist which you'll hear ringing around our festival village and sign-on areas and even some live on stage.
